These two groups together form the system's "collaboration layer": the place where files are stored and shared, and the place where people talk to each other and to the system.
Drive
Drive is Karitm's internal enterprise file server: cloud storage with library organization, space quotas, favorites, a recycle bin, internal sharing and external links, and edit locking.
The important difference from a generic public storage service is that it lives inside the same system where invoices and contract files are created, so a file can be linked to a record and its access model is the same as the organization's access model.
"My Drive"
| Top bar element | Function |
|---|---|
| Title with current library name | Below the title, the name of the library you are currently in is shown |
| Library selector | Dropdown list for switching between libraries |
| Search box | "Search files…" |
| Storage space bar | Space used against total quota, with a progress bar |
| View toggle · New folder · Upload | Card (grid) or list · create folder · upload file |
Below the toolbar, the in-drive breadcrumb path is shown with a home icon so you don't get lost in nested folders. Each file is displayed as a card with a file-type icon, a favorite star, a name, and a size.
"Favorites" is the list of files and folders marked with a star — a personal shortcut for each user, not a shared folder. "Recycle Bin" holds deleted files that can still be restored; permanently emptying the recycle bin requires a separate dedicated permission, meaning a regular user can delete a file but cannot destroy it permanently.
Drive permissions
Access is configured in three separate scopes: drive libraries · drive items · drive sharing. Dedicated permissions:
| Permission | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Download (all / own) | Separates download from viewing |
| Internal sharing | With users within the organization |
| Create external sharing link | A link that can be sent outside the organization |
| Revoke sharing | Cancel previous shares |
| Lock file | Prevents simultaneous editing (check-out) |
| Force-unlock | An administrator can remove a lock left by another user |
| Full control | All privileges on the item |
| Manage space quota · Empty recycle bin | Set the space ceiling · permanent deletion |
Separating "download" from viewing matters: a user can be allowed to view a document without being able to obtain a local copy — a necessary tool for organizations sensitive to data leaks.
Messenger
An in-system team messenger, with no need for an external tool. Two-column layout: the right column is the conversation list, the left column is the chat window.
List column: three icons at the top of the column (new chat +, bookmarked, filter), a "Search channel…" box, filter chips (All · Unread · Direct · Group), and a conversation row with avatar, name, preview of the last message, time, and an unread-count badge. The avatar icon indicates the conversation type: a person icon for direct chats and a lock icon for private channels.
Empty state of the chat window: "Welcome to Messenger — select a channel or conversation." Messenger works in real time: messages arrive instantly and the unread-count badge updates without a page refresh.
AI Assistant
Header: "AI Assistant — ask any question and get an instant answer," with a green online-status dot. Two important elements in the header: the credit chip (the organization's remaining credit balance, with a lightning-bolt icon and a "remaining" label) and the settings gear for configuring the assistant.
Empty state: "How can I help you? — Write a message to start the conversation," along with four ready-made suggestion cards: invoice registration guide · issuing an accounting document · inventory-count guide · generating a financial report.
Input field: "Write your message…" with a spark icon and a send button; next to it, a profile selector ("Company default") and a hint: "Press Enter to send and Shift+Enter for a new line." History column: a new-conversation button, a toggle to show archived conversations, and a list of previous conversations with title, date, and time.
| Permission | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Use chat | Right to converse with the assistant |
| Read / manage credentials | The key connecting to the AI service |
| Read / manage credit balance | The same number shown in the chip above |
| Read usage (own / all) | Usage report |
| Manage pricing | Set the consumption rate |
Credit model: the assistant is consumption-based, and the organization's remaining credit balance is always visible in the header. Other places that use AI — "Generate template with AI" in Document Templates and "Generate with AI" in Payroll Elements — draw from this same credit balance.
Tickets
Subtitle of "My Tickets": "Track and manage all your support requests." Six status filter chips with counters: All · New · Open · In Review · Resolved · Closed. Toolbar: search by title or ticket number · sort (default "newest") · filters · refresh · new ticket.
| Ticket card element | Description |
|---|---|
| Ticket number | Unique ticket identifier for tracking |
| Title | Subject of the request |
| Status chip | New / Open / In Review / Resolved / Closed |
| Priority chip | E.g., High, with an upward arrow |
| Creation time and last update | Shown as a relative time span (e.g., "a few days ago") |
| Reply counter · Close button | Number of replies recorded · closing the ticket from within the list |
The "Ticket Details" page (outside the menu, opened by clicking a card) includes a header with the ticket number, status and priority chips, and Close, Print, and Copy buttons; four info cards (type, creation date, last update, number of replies); the ticket description and attached files; and a side column with "Additional Information" (requester and support agent — until someone picks up the ticket it shows "Not assigned") and "Change History."
When an error occurs, you can file a support ticket directly; the necessary technical information is attached automatically. This drastically reduces back-and-forth with support. "New Ticket" has its own independent menu item so filing a ticket is always a single click away.
Sample workflows
Securely sharing a document outside the organization
My Drive → select library → upload file → file menu → create external sharing link (requires a dedicated permission) → revoke sharing if needed → lock the file to prevent simultaneous editing.
Restoring a deleted file
Recycle Bin → find the file → restore. Permanent deletion is only possible with the "empty recycle bin" permission.
Getting help from the AI Assistant
Pick one of the four suggestion cards or type a question → check the remaining-credit chip before long conversations → reopen previous conversations from the history column → finished conversations are viewed via the "show archived" toggle.
Tracking a technical issue
File a ticket when an error occurs → My Tickets → New or Open chip → open the ticket and review the change history and assigned support agent → after resolution, use the Close button.
