Dashboard, Service Points & Tools

Menu path: Dashboard (first item) · Service Points (third item) · Tools (last item, an action item)

Three sections that didn't fit into the other guides: the system's entry point, the module for desk/table-based businesses, and the side panel of utility tools.

The third position of "Service Points" is deliberate: in the businesses this module was built for (restaurants, cafés, salons, clinics) this page is the most heavily used page of the day and needs to be available near the top of the menu. "Tools" doesn't open a page either; it turns the side menu into a tools panel.

Dashboard

The Karitm dashboard isn't a single page — it's four views in one page. The bar at the top of the page switches between them, and three buttons on the other side of the bar: Default (pin the default view) · Price bar · Background.

View Content
Quick Access Shortcuts to frequently visited pages
Reports Dashboard Financial indicators and charts
Calendar Calendar view of events and due dates
Notes The user's personal notes

The "Quick Access" view

A grid of shortcut tiles titled "Recently Visited," with a counter of the number of tiles and a Clear History button. Each tile shows the page's icon and name and has two actions: Pin (keep permanently) and Delete.

This view is built automatically: the system keeps the pages the user has opened in order of recency. For a user who works with the same ten pages every day, this is effectively a personalized menu.

The "Reports Dashboard" view

A personalized greeting based on the time of day (e.g., "Good afternoon") along with the user's name and an icon matching the time of day. Three control buttons: Edit Layout · Refresh · Settings. Eight indicator cards, each with an amount and a percentage change "compared to last month":

Card Meaning
Today's Sales · Today's Purchases Total sales and purchases for the current day
Cash Balance The organization's cash balance
Current Month Profit Profit for the month to date
Receivables Balance Total amounts owed by customers
Payables Balance Total amounts owed to suppliers
Personnel Count Number of employees
Salaries Paid This Month Total salaries paid

Charts: "Sales vs. Purchases Comparison" (an area chart with a monthly/quarterly toggle) and "Expense Breakdown" (a pie chart). The Edit Layout button means the dashboard is draggable and customizable: each user arranges the cards and charts in whatever order they like, and their layout is saved for next time.

The "Calendar" view is a Solar Hijri calendar of events and due dates, and "Notes" is the user's personal notebook — both live inside the same dashboard page, with no new tab opening.

Service Points

A "service point" is anywhere a service is delivered from: a restaurant table, a salon chair, a clinic room, a sales kiosk, a store checkout counter. The module has three layers: Service Point Management (what points do we have and how do they behave?) ← Floor Layout (where are they positioned in the venue?) ← Floor View (what's their status right now?) ← Services & Reservations (who, when, what service?).

The "Floor View"

The main working page for the daily operations of desk/table-based businesses. A header with a live green dot and the subtitle "Real-time status of tables, checkouts, and sales kiosks." Five status chips with counters:

Status Color Icon
Available Green Checkmark
Occupied Red People
Reserved Orange Bookmark
Being Prepared Blue Broom
Out of Service Gray Prohibited

Header buttons: Service Point Management · Services & Reservations · Refresh. Map toolbar: Floor Layout button · view toggle (Map / Grid) · Full Screen · zoom in/out with percentage (default 100%) · search box with type filter.

On the map canvas, each service point's card sits at its actual position in the venue, colored according to its status. The card for an occupied table shows this information:

Field Meaning
Name · Code The service point's name and code, as defined
Status Colored chip showing real-time status
Party Size Number of people in the current seating
Current Amount Total sales recorded for that seating
Balance The unsettled portion of that amount

Day-to-day use: the floor manager sees at a glance which table is free, which is occupied, how much each table has sold, and how much of that is still unsettled — without opening any list. Full-screen mode is suited for display on a kitchen monitor or a reception desk.

Floor Layout, Service Point Management, and Reservations

"Floor Layout" is the venue map editor: service points are dragged and positioned on the canvas so the Floor View matches the venue's actual layout.

"Service Point Management" has the subtitle "Define and configure service points and their behavior." Columns: # · Code · Name · Category · Capacity · Status · Features · Actions. Category is a chip for the point's type (table, checkout, kiosk), Capacity is the number of people the point accommodates, and Features are three quick toggles (active/inactive, display, label) that determine the point's behavior.

"Services & Reservations" manages seatings: each period of use of a service point, from opening to settlement, along with upcoming reservations.

Two permissions dedicated to this module: "Manage Occupancy Status" and "Manage Service Point Sessions" — separate from the usual create, edit, and delete permissions. This means a server can be given permission to change a table's status without permission to define or delete tables.

Connection to the rest of the system: Quick Invoice is typically used together with this module, alongside card readers and payment gateways; "Service Point Sessions" and "Service Points" are two selectable entities in the Dynamic Report Builder; and end-of-shift cash register settlement is done from Cash Register Shift Handover in Treasury.

Tools

The last item in the main menu. It doesn't open a page — clicking it turns the side column into a tools panel with the header "Tools — a collection of practical utilities" and a button to return to the menu. Five tool icons at the top of the panel:

# Tool Use
1 Calculator Full numeric keypad with a result display
2 Unit Converter Converts units of measurement
3 Number to Words Writes an amount out in words — exactly what's needed for writing on checks and documents
4 Date Converter Converts between Solar Hijri and Gregorian dates
5 Percentage Calculator Percentage calculations (discounts, tax, share)

All five are exactly the things a user does in the middle of recording a financial document: doing a calculation, writing an amount out in words on a check, converting a Gregorian contract date to Solar Hijri, and figuring a discount percentage. The panel's practical advantage is that the calculator opens next to the form, without closing the tab and without losing the data you've entered into the form.

Frequently Asked Questions

I open the dashboard but don't see any chart.

The "Quick Access" view is active; click "Reports Dashboard."

Can I rearrange the dashboard cards?

Yes, with the "Edit Layout" button.

The "Recently Visited" list has gotten cluttered.

Pin the important tiles and delete the rest, or click "Clear History."

I click "Tools" but no page opens.

That's correct; Tools is an action item and turns the menu into a tools panel.

I created a new table but it's not in the Floor View.

It needs to be positioned on the map in "Floor Layout."

How do I change a table's status?

From the Floor View; it requires the dedicated "Manage Occupancy Status" permission.

What is the amount shown on a table's card?

The current sales for that seating; the "Balance" figure is the unsettled portion of it.

I want the Floor View on a large display.

The Full Screen button in the map toolbar.
